Code Apps for multiple platforms at once

Nitobi has launched a product to help developers code for multiple mobile platforms at once.  As Nitobi describe it, “PhoneGap is a cross-platform, native development framework”.  Long story short, they’ve combined use of HTML 5, JavaScript, and CSS to allow simultaneous development for nearly every mobile device on the market.
The list of platforms (with smartphone market share listed in parenthesis) includes;
  1. Android (33%)
  2. Symbian (31%)
  3. iOS (16%)
  4. Blackberry (14% RIM)
  5. Windows Phone 7 (3%)
  6. Bada (Other market share 3%)
  7. WebOS
The total market share coverage of PhoneGap exceeds 97%.  The best part?  It’s also free to download from PhoneGap.com.  Watch the video below the fold for more details.
