Software Tester Responsibilities

Software Tester Responsibilities:

Software tester is responsible for understaind requirements, creating test scenarios, test scripts, preparing test data, executing test scripts and reporting defects and reporting results to test lead.

a) Understand and analyze Business, Functional, Technical and UI (User Interface) requirements of the project/release.

b) Create Test Scenarios, Test Conditions & Expected results and Test Cases.

c) Run and maintain automated Test Scripts. (Applicable only if automation is planned for the project/release)

d) Create Required Test Data and maintain Common Test Data sheet of the Project/release.

e) Create Test Deliverables as per Testing Standards followed by the company or project/release.

f) Execute Test Scripts and document test results.

g) Log defects and verify defect fixes.

h) Inform Test Lead on any issues that could potentially impact Quality, schedule or budget of the Project/release.
